This spring, the Absarokee Community Foundation board met to review grant applications submitted by local organizations requesting assistance. This year, 13 groups submitted applications for projects highlighting their goal of helping to better the Absarokee community. The ACF board, which gives back to the community annually through this grant process, distributed $30,500 to these deserving organizations. The worthy recipients are as follows: Absarokee Area Food Bank, Absarokee Lending Library, Absarokee Senior Center, Beartooth Post 73-11 VFW, Cobblestone Preservation Committee, Domestic & Sexual Violence Services, Husky Wilderness Adventures, Kruizin’ 4 Seniors, Operation Second Chance, River Arts & Books, Stillwater Senior Center, Stillwater Valley Watershed Council and the Stillwater Boosters.
Since inception, local ACF volunteer board members dedicated to improving the Absarokee community have committed countless hours to this non-profit organization, helping to distribute over $600,000 to dozens of groups throughout the county. Because many local residents consistently contribute generously to the fund, more than 95% of all money raised is distributed in grants or to the permanent endowment.
Additionally, with the historic flooding in June 2022, the ACF set up a disaster relief account to help local constituents with emergency needs. To date, over $50,000 has been granted to individuals who lost their homes, were displaced by the floods or suffered significant damage to their home and property.
The ACF has contributed $600,000+ in support of local Stillwater County organizations!
Since 2000, as a result of the generous donations of our local supporters, the ACF has contributed more than $430,000 to local groups! Recipients include:
